In Tall Blocks, Hann offers a whimsical visual interpretation of Sam Hunt’s evocative poem about Wellington, where tall buildings become “blocks on the floor” floating in a harbour haze. Familiar towers and city forms are playfully reimagined, shifting the scale and perspective of the Wellington skyline. The result is a dreamlike view of a city that feels both familiar and strangely unreal—a place of towering buildings, harbour mist and the countless lives contained within them. It is a playful reflection on Wellington, its architecture and the people who spend their days working high above the harbour.
